Winneshiek Energy District

Winneshiek Energy District

Greenpenny is an active supporter of the Winneshiek Energy District (WED) mission to lead, implement, and accelerate the locally-owned, inclusive, clean energy transition. WED’s key strategies together build an unstoppable flywheel of momentum and include energy planning, market transformation, public engagement, policy advocacy, and readiness.

As the founding Energy District, WED’s mission also includes the demonstration of the energy district model viability and the growth of an energy district network. They intended to create a replicable model based upon the following key principles:

Local leadership exists everywhere. Energy Districts create independent, “universal-local” institutions to empower those with a passion for clean energy and dedication to driving change.

Energy is complicated, and Energy Districts lead by doing. Quality technical assistance (energy planning) for energy users, paired with active market transformation, enables widespread energy efficiency and solar ownership and builds a flywheel of momentum.

When Green Meets Green, communities unite and thrive. We all do better when we all do better, and the clean energy future will happen of, by, and for the people.

Energy Districts are geographically, and socio-economically inclusive, and universal replication is fully possible with existing resources. Locally owned energy efficiency and renewables create jobs, retain wealth, and build energy prosperity (one Green), and simultaneously advance climate stewardship (another Green).

MnSEIA

MnSEIA

MnSEIA is the Minnesota solar and storage industry voice that serves public interest with policy, education, job creation, and sustainable industry development within the state. As a member, greenpenny is doing its part to advocate for climate-positive electrification and to offer sustainable finance capital to fund clean energy opportunities in the industry.

Working Group discussions with MnSEIA members and non-members address emerging issues and collaborate to ensure more perspectives are heard and taken into consideration to reach a larger audience. Dialogue from a wide variety of participants is vital because it extends the opportunity for industry stakeholders to provide and receive feedback from government agencies, utilities, businesses, advocates, and interested civilians to explain their positions on specific topics.

Missouri Solar Energy Industries Association

Missouri solar industry leaders met in 2009 to form the Missouri Solar Energy Industries Association (MOSEIA) with the goal of growing the solar industry through outreach, advocacy, continuing education and trainings.
